The seventh installment shows tremendous distinctions from its prequels. The most striking change is the absence of Hogwarts, the iconic school of witchcraft and wizardry. Change is good, but not always. The school has been in every Harry Potter movie and its absence is quite heartfelt since it does not give the general atmosphere that the viewers are used to watching. Of course, the movie itself is not to blame since J. K. Rowling, the author, chose to write the story this way. Hopefully, there will be more of Hogwarts in the second part, considering the fact that the Battle of Hogwarts takes place at the end of the story.
The acting is brilliantly done with its main characters Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson each upholding his or her distinctive characteristics that have embodied them since the beginning of the tale. There are also some new characters, most notably Bill Nighy, who is an absolute delight to watch. His role of Minister of Magic matches him in every way possible.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is the seventh and final installment of the Harry Potter series written by British author J.K. Rowling. The book, which is 759 pages long, will be divided into two movies and the second part will hit theaters next year. It has already sold more than 44 million copies worldwide, and is the fastest-selling movie of all time after it sold about 15 million copies in just 24 copies. Way back in 2007, there have been talks that the novel will be split into two but there has been no confirmation yet regarding the idea. It was only after the 2007-08 Writers Guild of America ended that producer David Heyman talked to screenwriter Steve Kloves and had the approval of Rowling. Heyman commented on, Deathly Hallows is so rich, the story so dense and there is so much that is resolved that, after discussing it with J.K. Rowling, we came to the conclusion that two parts were needed.”

Just like J.R.R. Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings series directed by Peter Jackson, the films have been shot back to back. Filming began on February 19, 2009 at the Leavesden Studios, where the past Harry Potter movies were also shot. They filmed for more than a year and a half with the last day of shooting was June 12, 2010.
